Sunflowers

This is the first completed crochet project of the year. I started it in November 2022 and finished it at the beginning of January, but have just gifted it today.

My granddaughter and her boyfriend have just bought their first home. As she loves sunflowers, I couldn't resist making this as a housewarming present. It's big enough for them both to snuggle under.

The pattern is "Sunflower Throw" by yarnspirations. Made with Red Heart supersaver in coffee, medium thyme, pumpkin, gold and soft white.

Tunisian Mosaic Squares CAL 2023

So this year I have decided to join a CAL (Crochet Along). Since retiring from work, I have more time to crochet, so I thought I should learn something different.

Arunima Goel from the Facebook Group "KnitterKnotter Hangout" has created a blanket using 25 Tunisian Mosaic squares. She is sharing a new pattern every two weeks and then she will share the pattern for the border.

Although I have made several things using Tunisian Crochet, I have never tried Mosaic. I tried the first square and fell in love with the technique and the result.

Week 1

Looking forward to the next one.
