Ripples

I used to crochet a lot when I was younger. However, other things took over and I crocheted less and less. A couple of years ago, I did some filet crochet which I enjoyed, but even that tailed off.
Then I found Attic 24’s blog. I can’t remember how I came across it. I probably followed a link from someone’s blog. Well looking at all the wonderful things Lucy makes inspired me to start crocheting again. I found her tutorial for the Neat Ripple Pattern and decided to give it a go.
I started it in the spring, slowed down during the summer months as it was a bit warm to have draped over my knee while I hooked it and as it grew, it was no longer portable. I finally finished it in November. After crocheting a few rows of trebles along the sides I edged it with a border I found here. As a final flourish (and to hide the fact that my border’s corners were not very good!) I attached Attic 24’s Triple Layer Flowers to the corners. Well it is a lovely blanket to snuggle under.

Yesterday I decided to spend a couple of days on my boat. I thought the ripple blanket would be just right to add some colour to the boat so I took it with me. It looks lovely on the bed and it kept me warm all night.
